Crystalynn is an artist and art instructor living in Prince George, British Columbia. She began her career painting in acrylics but with the desire for treading lightly on the land she has recently shifted from purchasing her medium to creating her own from the soils she collects from around her home and in her travels. The pigments extracted from these soil samples brings her passion for the outdoors directly onto her paintings. The works tell a story with both the artist and the earth being the story tellers. Together they seek to express memories, both fleeting and lasting; yet the stories are united by the wonder of the land’s existence, creation, provision and its need for conservation.

Crystalynn has exhibited in both group and solo shows within the Central Interior of British Columbia and has won the Toni Onley Scholarship through Arts fest 2010 for the Toni Onley Artists’ Project at Island Mountain Arts in Wells, BC. Crystalynn has studied painting and drawing through Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2009, the Toni Onley Artists Project 2010 and 2011 as well as courses through the Two Rivers Art Gallery.
